Project Controller


The Project Controller plans, directs, or coordinates the cost of the operations of multi-craft projects in their assigned area. This position manages and plans the use of materials and human resources. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest degree of honesty and integrity, and acting in a professional manner at all times. Safety is first and foremost in all activities, and this position is a role model for all other contractors to strive to emulate.

Project Finance:

  • Tracks and reports hours, crew mix and job cost on a weekly basis.

  • Manage the project to the As Sold Budget, or lower to increase profitability.

  • Own job profitability and site headcount, ensure Job Superintendent and General Forman are using cost levers appropriately.

  • Understands and manages job overhead costs(office space, office supplies, office personnel, consumables, safety supplies, etc).

  • Analyzes and forecasts project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.

  • Understands pricing and billing procedures.

  • Understands basic revenue and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.

  • Ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for the project

  • Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.

Ensures our team is utilizing both Brand and(when applicable) customer computer systems appropriately. Ensures they have proper knowledge of systems and how they should be used. Working knowledge in using personal computer and application software including Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
