Senior Fixed Asset Accountant

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for updating the perpetual inventory system with asset additions, sales, and disposals. This individual will be involved in preparation of Capex and Fixed Asset Rollforward reports. The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will prepare moderately complex spreadsheets for calculating and recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing consolidating entries. They will have a very active role in the monthly close process. This position is a direct report to the Asset Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

•Reconciling Fixed Asset subledger to the general ledger

•Accounting for capital additions, transfers, disposals, depreciation and integrations

•Interfacing FAS 500 Asset Accounting with general ledger system

•Maintenance of FAS 500 Asset Accounting system

•Respond to requests from Tax Department/Internal Auditors/External Auditors

•Preparation of period end schedules including month-end reporting schedules, tax package schedules and audit schedules

•Preparation and posting of monthly journal entries, including accruals and adjustments according to monthly close schedule

•Preparation of monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts including explanations of significant variances

•Preparation and understanding of monthly management reports including Capex and Fixed Asset Rollforwards

•Ensure compliance with GAAP Principles

•Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls

•Other general support including special projects

•Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project and deadlines as required

•Effectively manage and communicate issues on a timely basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

•5 to 7 years’ experience

•MBA or equivalent degree required

•CPA Track required

•Highly detail oriented and organized

COMPUTER SKILLS

•Experience with FAS, HFM and Oracle preferred

•Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Access
