Director of Corporate Accounting


Brand Industrial Services, Inc., a BrandSafway Company, is currently recruiting for a Director of Corporate Accounting who will have a very active role in managing a department of 7 accountants consisting of 2 direct reports and 5 senior/staff accountants. through the monthly close process, including 5 indirect, develop a strong working relationship with key region/division accounting and finance personnel, mentor and develop a staff of 10 overall. The position is a direct report to the Global Corporate Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

•Manage the Corporate Accounting Department's month-end close process along with the administration of the company's multiple general ledger systems.

•Assist with key valuation reserves including workers compensation and general liability insurance, AR Financing, accounts receivable reserves and contingent liabilities.

•Review monthly journal entries prepared by team, including corporate allocations, debt, inter-company, multi-ledger entries, AR Financing, as well as various key reserves and Treasury related cash/debt/derivative entries.

•Review and approve monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis.

•Support financial accounting/general ledger acquisition/integration activities.

•Perform month-end closing analysis and reporting of accounting information for internal management reporting, external reporting and audit purposes

•Manage the monthly accounting and reporting of the Company’s accounts receivable financing facility, as well as the year-end bank audit.

•Support the Company's quarterly and annual audit.

•Prepare necessary Sarbanes-Oxley documentation for Corporate Accounting.

•Develop new and update existing accounting policies and procedures.

•Assist with special projects as necessary.


•Develop and manage the activity of two accounting managers/supervisors as well as five senior/staff accountants.

Education and/or Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

•10-15 years’ experience

•CPA required


•Superior problem solving ability

•Ability to analyze qualitative data

•Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deductive reasoning skills

•Detail oriented and organized


•Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment and mobilize cross-functional high performance teams

•Exceptional verbal communication skills

•Excellent written communication skills


•Experience with HFM and Hyperion planning preferred

•Proficient is Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint and Access
