Performs utility and support tasks as directed by the Service Manager, including picking parts, pick-up and delivery of parts and equipment, basic service checks of Branch equipment and maintenance of related records, shop and office housekeeping. May under supervision provide assistance in the repair and maintenance of Spider equipment and assistance in rigging of Spider swing staging.

Essential Functions

Duties include the following:

  • Operates Company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner for the pick-up and delivery of equipment, parts, tools and material as directed.

  • Loading and unloading trucks, using straps and load binders.

  • Performs periodic safety and maintenance checks on Company vehicles and insures that required maintenance actions are accomplished on schedule and maintains related records.

  • Performs general warehousing tasks such as the receiving and storing of parts and material as well as packaging and shipping parts and material and maintains related records.

  • Performs daily general housekeeping and janitorial tasks to keep both shop and office spaces clean and orderly.

  • As directed, assists Service Mechanics in the maintenance and repair of Spider equipment and accessories in the shop and at job sites.

  • Learn to rig equipment at the job sites.

    Qualifications & Requirements

Qualified candidates shall have:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Related vocational training and/or one year of related experience helpful.

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record

  • Drive commercial vehicles over 10,000 lbs

  • Ability to drive vehicles that pull 20ft trailers on occasion

  • Mechanical aptitude preferred

  • Ability to work in elevated construction areas without fear of heights

  • Must be able to lift & carry 50+lbs for extended periods of time (up to 15 minutes) several times during one shift.

  • Familiar with DOT regulations

  • Computer experience needed

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment

  • Safety First Attitude

  • Positive and self-motivated

Work Environment

The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. Encounters typical working conditions at construction sites such as dangerous, slippery, uneven walking surfaces, mud, ice, concrete, scaffolding, and steps. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for continuous periods of time, walk, have clarity of vision, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk, lift items up to 75 pounds and reach with hands and arms.About Spider
