We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Lead based out of the Suncor Site located north of Fort McMurray.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Individual will be responsible to oversee a team of approximately 20 individuals in various business functions including: Finance, Administration, Project Controls and Onboarding
Individual will work with Project Management team on key elements that directly contribute to the success of the project including: Time and Cost Controls, Safety Performance, Forward Analysis, Information Management
Will oversee the project quoting, cost control, performance measurement, and change management processes
Implement and ensure accurate performance measurements and prepare project reports
Responsible for Business controls documentation, coordination and support activities used to manage day-to-day business and client audits
Create and maintain the forecast and variance to forecast.
Forecasting and trending KPI performance consistent with the contract
Analyze the activities on site, determine and report on how these activities affect the results of the site and work with the management team on required changes or solutions.
Develop internal & external dashboards for measurement of KPI’s with Project Controls management team. Generate reports on required frequency & assist Project Manager on presentation & interpretation as required.
Tracking any value initiatives for client
Supervise and coordinate payroll processing activities to insure the accurate and timely payment for all time worked and corresponding payroll deductions
Verifying all rates are updated in both client and Safway systems to ensure accurate invoicing
Ensure compliance with Company and customer policies and procedures where applicable
Provide business analysis to Management team as needed
Participate in development activities for continual improvement in the project control system & services.
Provide leadership and education in zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in functional area.
Minimum of eight (8) years related experience, preferably in an industrial setting
Preference to individuals with a business education background
Requires excellent oral and written communication, skills to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and personnel at other branch offices and within corporate headquarters
Requires strong leadership abilities to inspire and coach employees to accomplish strategic goals and related tasks. This includes abilities that correspond to leadership, such as recruiting, selecting, training, motivating employees, and managing employee performance, and developing and administering operating budgets.
Requires ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and to effectively communicate the related required actions to customers and subordinate personnel
Must be detailed orientated and have excellent time management skills
Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, with above average skills in MS Word and Excel
This position works a 5 x 8 schedule so preference will be given to individuals local to Fort McMurray
