We are looking for a Project Controls Manager. We are currently seeking a Project Controls Manager within our team of experienced professionals. The right candidate will be responsible for undertaking managing and reporting responsibility of one/several of our Projects for our Metro and Infrastructure division. This Position will require participation in all phases of the branch projects bidding, execution and close out. The candidate will be responsible for making independent evaluations on overall projects operational and financial health based on interpretation of KPI reports using both own experience and that of assigned project team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Regional Project Controls team to drive a strong project controls culture and standardization across assigned projects. Drive disciplined process & structure around project planning, scheduling, cost and change order management.

  • Institute a clear set of leading & lagging KPIs for Project Controls across projects. Develop and drive a scorecard to monitor performance and weekly reporting.

  • Actively support critical projects that meet operational and financial thresholds by identifying on going and future operational/financial risks by applying Project Control practices to track overall project health.

  • Partner with the field execution team through daily/weekly cadences to collect and report overall progress of the job.

  • Coordinate between all required teams (aka safety, engineering, legal, etc) and support Mega Projects team

  • Improve communications through weekly/monthly cadence to report-out overall project health to the senior leadership team.

  • Drive margin expansion across all projects through best practice standardization & productivity initiatives.

  • Introduce innovative ways to optimize and streamline job scheduling, timesheet tracking, KPI collections and other digital solution by eliminating manual entries and redundant work.

  • Support project financial and operational close out through a disciplined process by capturing best practices and lesson learned.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another technical field from an accredited university preferred.

  • Up to 5 years of relevant industry experience (construction services, manufacturing, petrochemical, refinery, power)

  • Strong managerial & communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills & proficiency in Excel

  • Ability to work in a cross-matrix organization and with the field teams

  • Will require up to 30% of travel

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent desired

  • Ability to create excellent working relationships with senior management

  • Ability to effectively work within a matrix organization

  • Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and confidence

  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Travel as needed to support the need of the Areas
