The Director, Business Continuity is charged with the crucial responsibility of crafting and maintaining a secure operational environment delivering business continuity while ensuring the resilience of critical business processes & systems. In this multifaceted role, the Director leads strategic initiatives that integrate business continuity planning seamlessly into organization's operational fabric, fortify the adaptability of business processes to withstand potential disruptions triggered by weather incidents, cyber related, 3rd party service providers, facilities, emerging threats such as AI, etc.,

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Strategic Leadership and Operational Security :

  • Develop and communicate a visionary strategy for an integrated cyber security and business continuity program.

  • Lead efforts to shape a holistic, secure operational environment, aligning security measures with overall business objectives.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, staying informed about emerging threats, technologies, and industry best practices.

  • Resilience of Critical Business Processes and Compliance:

  • Own initiatives to enhance the resilience of critical business processes, identifying dependencies and implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Proactively address vulnerabilities to ensure business processes remain robust in the face of unforeseen disruptions.

  • Ensure the organization's adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, implementing adjustments as needed.

  • Stakeholder Engagement, Team Leadership, and Program Implementation:

  • Engage with stakeholders, including senior management, the board of directors, regulators, and external partners.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor, communicating the value and impact of integrated cyber security and business resilience/continuity efforts.

  • Build and lead a cohesive team of professionals, providing mentorship and direction in both cyber security and business continuity.

  • Foster collaboration across functional areas to implement security measures seamlessly into business operations.

  • Security Architecture, Technology Integration, Training, and Budget Management:

  • Define and maintain a comprehensive security architecture, covering network security, endpoint security, and data security solutions.

  • Partner with other IT leaders to integrate technology recovery capabilities aligned with business demand and regulatory guidance.

  • Establish and oversee training programs to enhance awareness of cyber security and business continuity roles and responsibilities among employees.

  • Prepare and manage the budget for cyber security and business continuity, optimizing resource allocation and overseeing both operational and capital expenditures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, cyber security or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in business continuity, risk management, or corporate security

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA

  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles in cyber security and business continuity management, with a track record of success in large matrixed organizations.

  • Strong knowledge of cyber security and business continuity principles, practices, and technologies.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
